The Latxa sheep farms have to cope with different types of crises and long‑term pressures. Resilience analysis can help to strengthen the system to cope with these challenges and maintain their functions. Therefore, the aim of this work is to analyse the perceptions of cheese producers' farmers and the stakeholders (technicians and researchers) of the Latxa sheep sector about the challenges they face and the attributes that allow them to be resilient. To this end, open interviews were conducted with farmers, which were analysed using the content analysis method, and a focus group was conducted with stakeholders where scoring exercises were carried out. The results show that farmers highlight the challenge of excessive bureaucracy and controls, while the stakeholder group identifies the lack of generational replacement, changes in consumption habits and low profitability of the farms. Moreover, resilience attributes such as response diversity and autonomy are key for farmers and the stakeholder group. The stakeholder group also highlight human and economic capital, coupling with natural resources, functional diversity, information exchange, local dependency and natural capital. We can conclude that farmers and stakeholders have a different perception of the challenges that affect them and the attributes that strengthen their resilience. This diversity of perceptions should be taken into account when developing strategies to strengthen the resilience of Latxa sheep farms.
