Moleculars mechanisms in plant salt tolerance

Download paper Ver Versión Española

Authors: L. Chávez, L.M. González
Issue: 105-4 (231-256)
Topic: Plant Production
Keywords: Saline stress, Transgenic plants, ABA, Ionic homeostasis.
Summary:

Salinity is one of the most important abiotic factors for its negative impacts on yield crops around the world with a reduction higher than 50 percent in many crops of economic importance. The fundamental molecular mechanism for the plant adaptation to saline conditions as the maintenance of the ionic homeostasis, the syntesis of osmotic protector compounds, the reduction of damage for oxidative stress and the abscisic acid role are described in plant salt tolerance.
