Summary:

Almond growing, with a surface of about 200,000 ha, is one of the most important crops in Andalucía, although with a marginal aspect. The characteristics of this crop in Andalucía are presented in this work, with a description and an analysis of surfaces and productions, characteristics of the environment, plant material, growing management, associations and marketing. The trials on almond under way by the Dirección General de Investigación Agraria de la Junta de Andalucía are also described.
