Summary:

In this study, soil erosion caused by different cultivation techniques for olive‑trees (cultivation without soil disturbance, traditional agriculture or conservational agriculture) is evaluated. The work has been carried out in the drainage area of the Guadajoz river, an tributary of the Guadalquivir river, in the provinces of Jaén and Córdoba (Andalucía, Spain). The samples have been analysed according to isotopic methods and more precisely measuring the content of Cesium‑137 in the soil.
In general the results show that the erosion is positively related to removal (soil by cultivation. However, as some of the obtained results are not conform to this hypothesis, other explanations hare been argued.
